Hi! I left Texas at eighteen to do things like study English at UCLA, wait lots of tables, travel to places like Tokyo and the Czech Republic and Graceland, wait more tables, then get my MFA in film from USC.
I wrote and directed a dark comedy short about a Southern sorority, called ARCHER HOUSE. Eventually the allure of a paycheck and insurance led me to a job as a development exec in film. Then the recession came knocking, which turned out to be OK since I felt like I was sitting on the wrong side of the conference table anyway.
I write this blog, Bureaucracy for Breakfast, along with film reviews and things, for www.lostinasupermarket.com under the name “The Elf.” I also write for Forbes, Huffington Post, The Gloss, Thought Catalog, The Impersonals, Red Bull Media and Hello Giggles. My first two comic books, about Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor, are coming in 2012 from Bluewater Comics.
I recently launched an online graphic novel about dating in LA called FLING GIRL LA
